Ice Fishing

Jan 23rd,2010
Johnny, Jason, Caryn & Scott (Caryn's new man) went Ice Fishing for the first time at Magic Reservoir by Magic City in the Shoshone mountains on Saturday. They had a BLAST to say the least. Johnny is beside himself. He has wanted to do this for so long. The ice was about 3 to 4 feet thick and they set up the fishing area about 400 yards out on the ice from shore. They caught some trout and we're having that for dinner tonight. Yeah, our first Idaho fish. Yummy. They stayed the night in a cabin right on the water (ice) and are ready to go again. (Dads (Don & Harold) I'm sure you would have loved this!!)

Lucky Peak Lake

Jan 18th, 2010
We headed out for a drive today with Krissy, Jason and the kids. We were headed up towards Idaho City and turned off onto to some small dirt road. It ended up being Luck Peak Lake and this dirt road followed all the way up around the lake. There was tons of snow but it is a well maintained road , so it was snowplowed. There were a few times I got alittle scared because the road as right along the edge in alot of places, but I'm a baby about that stuff. It was one of the most beautiful areas I have ever seen. Alot of the lake was frozen and as you can see in the first pic the reflection off the lake of the snow covered mountains was so amazing. We drove for miles and finally found a good spot to stop for lunch that we packed up before we left. Also the kids and big kids got to play in the snow . They had snow ball fights and did some sledding. Laney even loved to be outside. We just bundled her little butt up. She also loved the bumpy road we were on for so long. It kept her asleep forever. Waylon either got bored or super sleepy because he passed out. Check out the video clip of Waylon and Justin Sledding. Scroll down and pause the background music.

The Park

Jan 12th,2010
We had a fun day out with the kids and my mom. We started out at Veterans memorial State Park located in Garden City right next to Boise. The park has a huge playground Waylon got to play at. From the park who head out on a path that takes you out to trails that lead you along the Boise River. On one side is the river and on the other side pf the trail is a small lake . It was so Beautiful with the mountains in the background covered in snow. Laney slept the whole time in her stroller all cozy warm. Waylon has a blast of course. He loves to be outside. After we walked around the lake we headed out for some lunch and landed at our favorite place "Famous Dave's" . Whoever comes to visit has to go to "Dave's". It's the Best. We love it.

Waylon's 1st Movie

Jan. 8th,2009
We took Waylon to his first movie at the theaters. He had so much fun and he loved it. He was really good. I was afraid he would want to wander around but he watched the whole movie. We saw Alvin and the chipmunks. He had his own popcorn and soda and ate the whole thing. We brought lots of candy but he didn't want any of that. Hmmm. He calls the movie theater " The Big Tv" how cute!!

New Year's Eve 2010

We spent New Year's Eve at home with The Pimentels (Johnny's sister and family) The girls hung out in the house most of the night. We had hamburgers and made cookies. The kids were in and out all night. We had alot of snow so they played outside alot. Even Laney got to go outside and hang out by the fire pit alittle too. I think I fell asleep about 11:50 and woke up to Johnny giving me kiss at midnight. How sweet. Although I think I yelled at him because he walked through the house with wet/dirty feet.
Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!

Christmas 2009

We had our first Christmas Idaho style. Christmas Eve we spent with Johnny's whole family at his Parent's house In Middleton. It was an eventful day/night. First of all there was a little mishap with the ham and long story short , thank god for Albertson's fried chicken and my mom. Than the kids sang songs. Waylon was so cute, he kinda hummed along. Johnny's sister Deanna sang Silent night with her beautiful voice and we all joined in at the end. Than the crazy opening of the gifts. That's crazy every year, with soo many kids, but fun to watch. At the end of all the gift opening Harold (Johnny's dad) brought out Nerf play guns for the whole family and there was one huge, chaotic gun fight. It was pretty funny, grown men acting like kids (well not much of a stretch there!!!)
Christmas day we stayed home most of the day with the kids and my mom. Waylon didn't wake up until 10am. I think he was pretty worn out from the gun fight the night before. It took him about 20 minutes to open each gift because he wanted to play with each thing he opened. It got to the point where we had to take a break and eat something. It was a pretty lazy day . My mom made Beef Wellington for Christmas dinner and it was so good I want it again right now.
A special note for my Husband. He got me a locket with Waylon and Laney's names engraved on it. There's a pic,but you can't really tell . It's so beautiful . Thank you so much, I love you.
